Breakthrough ACTION Côte d’Ivoire collected and analyzed 295 rumors related to COVID-19 in general, new beliefs about COVID-19 vaccination, rabies, and other diseases thank to community listening and social listening in order to better manage infodemic.

Closing the COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake Gap Among Health Workers in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

Health workers need to get vaccinated for COVID-19 to protect both themselves and others. In their role as frontline workers, they have higher exposure to the virus, and they have a powerful influence on public vaccine attitudes and behavior. Therefore, health workers are a priority group for COVID-19 vaccination, yet many still have not taken the vaccine, especially in low- and middle-income countries. In countries where overall vaccination rates are still quite low, health workers may also face more barriers to getting vaccinated. Public health programs thus need innovative approaches to support health workers’ acceptance and uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine.

    Evaluating expectations from social and behavioral science about COVID-19 and lessons for the next pandemic

    This review presents a comprehensive assessment of 742 scientific articles on human behavior during COVID-19. Two independent teams evaluated 19 substantive policy recommendations (“claims”) on potentially critical aspects of behaviors during the pandemic drawn from the most widely cited behavioral science papers on COVID-19.

      Highlights on the Journey of the Breakthrough ACTION for COVID-19 Program in Indonesia

      The series of learning notes in this book highlights the Breakthrough ACTION for COVID-19 program in Indonesia. All of these records are expected to provide inspiration regarding efforts to make behavioral and social changes in the wider community; so that program managers can apply proven good practices or mitigate when implementing various other programs. In addition, this book also emphasizes the importance of inclusivity of all components of society.

      It is hoped that this highlights book will be easy to read and understand the journey of the Breakthrough ACTION program in Indonesia. This booklet is in Bahasa.

      The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemics on the Development of Health Risk Communication: Challenges and Opportunities

      Starting from an analysis of communication in Italy during the COVID-19 emergency period (February–June 2020), this paper provides an overview of the main challenges and opportunities for communication during pandemics. The purpose of this study is to perform a literature review contributing to the identification of practical recommendations for the improvement of current risk communication strategies.

        This series of cross-sectional studies explores the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on demand- and supply-side factors affecting maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) service utilization in Kenya, Malawi and Mozambique. The studies reveal the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic impacted people’s willingness and ability to access essential MNCH services, their experiences of care, and the health system’s readiness to continue to provide essential care during the pandemic.

          Testimonials from community leaders on the awareness activities against COVID-19 carried out by Breakthrough ACTION Mali

          Under funding from USAID Mali, Breakthrough ACTION Mali conducted advocacy and mobilization, awareness-raising and community engagement activities for several months in the capital of Bamako but also in the regions. These activities have been proven by the various testimonies of government, community and religious leaders.
