Liberia ‘Healthy Life’ Campaign

Since 2021, Breakthrough ACTION, led by Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, has worked in close partnership with the Liberia Ministry of Health to develop COVID-19 communication materials. Many of the materials have been developed under the larger umbrella health campaign “Healthy Life”, while other materials have been developed for specific campaign surges (e.g., pediatric vaccinations).

      COVID-19 Vaccine Promotion

      Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) implemented a COVID-19 vaccine promotion project in Ethiopia with funding and technical assistance from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the global Breakthrough ACTION mechanism. Several SBC materials were produced under this project including TV and radio spots as well as different posters and banners. These materials were intended to reduce vaccine hesitancy among the general public and health service providers and increase the uptake of the vaccines.

        COVID-19 Vaccine Audio Spots for Pregnant and Lactating Mothers in Ghana

        These are two 60-second audio spots produced by Breakthrough ACTION to increase awareness of the COVID-19 vaccine, and eligibility among pregnant and lactating women. The audio spots are available in English and translated into 16 local languages.

          Radio is used to communicate to millions about COVID-19 in Burkina Faso

          DMI has created 24 one-minute radio spots on COVID-19. These are being broadcast over 6 months from May to October 2020 by 39 radio stations across the country. Broadcasts are 10 times a day and at peak listening times. The spots are each translated and produced in 10 local languages. They include messages encouraging specific behaviours, which are based on the Burkina Faso Ministry of Health’s COVID response plan, and developed with advice from World Health Organisation Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (WHO GOARN) and Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
