Cambodia Coronavirus IVR Game Script

This is a script created for an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) COVID-19 game as part of the COVID-19 campaign in Cambodia.

The IVR script contains questions put to the caller. The caller receives several options to respond to the question, by pressing numbers on the phone. If the caller answers incorrectly, a negative sound is heard and then the correct answer and more information is supplied. If the caller answers correctly, a positive sound is heard, and more information is supplied.

3-D Simulation about Social Distancing

Scientists who study the transmission of respiratory illnesses like influenza say that infections typically happen when a healthy person comes into contact with respiratory droplets from an infected person’s cough, sneeze or breath.

This simulation, created using research data from the Kyoto Institute of Technology, offers one view of what can happen when someone coughs indoors. A cough produces respiratory droplets of varying sizes. Larger droplets fall to the floor, or break up into smaller droplets.

Advice on the Use of Masks in the Context of COVID-19

This document is an update of the guidance published on 6 April 2020 and includes updated scientific evidence relevant to the use of masks for preventing transmission of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as well as practical considerations.

The main differences from the previous version include the following:

Updated information on transmission from symptomatic, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic people infected with COVID-19, as well as an update of the evidence of all sections of this document
New guidance on the targeted continuous use of medical masks by health workers working in clinical areas in health facilities in geographical areas with community transmission1 of COVID-19
Updated guidance and practical advice for decisionmakers on the use of medical and non-medical masks by the general public using a risk-based approach
New guidance on non-medical mask features and characteristics, including choice of fabric, number and combination of layers, shape, coating and maintenance

Physical Distancing, Face Masks, and Eye Protection for Prevention of COVID-19

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes COVID-19 and is spread personto-person through close contact.

The authors of this article aimed to investigate the effects of physical distance, face masks, and eye protection on virus transmission in health-care and non-health-care (eg, community) settings. They did a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the optimum distance for avoiding person-to-person virus transmission and to assess the use of face masks and eye protection to prevent transmission of viruses.

The findings of this systematic review and meta-analysis support physical distancing of 1 m or more and provide quantitative estimates for models and contact tracing to inform policy. Optimum use of face masks, respirators, and eye protection in public and health-care settings should be informed by these findings and contextual factors. Robust randomised trials are needed to better inform the evidence for these interventions, but this systematic appraisal of currently best available evidence might inform interim guidance.
