As the COVID-19 pandemic has evolved around the world, it has passed through several phases, raising distinct questions and challenges in each phase. Join us for a retrospective look at one year of the global pandemic.
Dr. Sylvie Briand is the director of the Global Infectious Hazards Preparedness Department, within the WHO Emergency Preparedness division at the World Health Organization in Geneva.
Sylvie’s department advances global efforts to prevent and control existing and emerging infectious diseases by increasing access to evidence-based interventions; fostering impactful innovation; and leveraging technical, operational and strategic partnerships. The scope of her department includes COVID-19 but also other dangerous pathogens such as pandemic influenza, plague, Nipah virus, smallpox and other pox viruses and arboviruses (Zika, and Chikungunya).
Participants will be able to submit questions during the webinar by using Zoom’s “Q&A” feature. You may also submit them in advance by sending them to Sarah Hess: firstname.lastname@example.org
