Currently, over 110 countries recommend or mandate face covering for the general public. These policies have social, cultural and behavioural dimensions and therefore should be informed by evidence from social and behavioural sciences. This one-hour webinar co-hosted by the WHO Information Network for Epidemics and the Behavioural Insights Initiative at WHO, will provide a snapshot of how different efforts can provide different types of social and behavioural insights on face mask use in the context of COVID19. Join us to learn about the impact of sociocultural narratives and people’s motivations on using face masks; the effectiveness of communications around safe mask use; and the science behind the recently updated WHO mask guidance.
